The Long Way to Death Valley

Sleeping in a tiny tent was scary, so scary that every single time a noise of a breaking branch in the distance would reach my ear I would wake up in panic. Reading articles about bear attacks in California just before the trip was not very wise, every single time I would close my eyes I could see myself running away from a massive grizzly bear.5 am jet lagged internal alarm clock meant I barely got any sleep, however, I didn't mind, after all, it was my Birthday and Daniel had a little surprise for me – a jelly sweet…

Camping in Yosemite

Unfortunately, it was time to say goodbye to the beautiful city of San Francisco. We had our last drive over the Golden Gate Bridge and started our journey to Yosemite National Park.Well…kind of, before that we have stopped at Target to get some cash & stock our boot with some food to grill on the fire, snacks to keep us going on our hikes and drinks, well to make our evenings by the fire more entertaining.Prices at Yosemite are super high and the choice of groceries is not that great so I would recommend everyone doing this trip to shop…

Santa Cruz- San Francisco

Waking up early in the morning from the noises in the nearby room is not the most pleasant experience on your holiday, but it is quite a small thing considering how much we have saved staying in this place 5 minutes walk to the beach and with breakfast included. We ate our cinnamon rolls and super sugary juice drinks, packed our suitcases to our what used to be white, but now grey jeep and left to San Francisco. It is just over an hour drive from Santa Cruz, but be prepared for the crazy traffic, so if you don’t switch…

Drive along the Pacific coast + Fake Proposal

Breakfast in the creepy diner (read about it here)just wasn’t very appealing therefore we got coffee and breakfast bars at the gas station and drove to the beach. It was probably one of the nicest breakfast I ever had. We were already in Big Sur area, but the beach was fairly quiet, only few dog walkers along the shore. We met the sun got into a car and continued our trip. Hearst Castle: Architectural gem among the coastal hills known for both its refined beauty and idyllic location. Unfortunately, we did not realise that we need to book tickets before going,…

245 mile drive from Los Angeles to San Simeon

I was sad to leave my favourite city of Angels, but excited at the same time to start our big adventure on the road. We got some water and snacks for the road, packed our suitcases and left our lovely Airbnb house to start 245 miles drive to San Simeon. To get the best experience you should leave from Santa Monica and take route 101, which is a highway that goes along the Pacific Ocean all the way up to San Francisco. Here is the list of locations that I recommend to stop at (in that order): Santa Barbara: Californian heaven, probably…

Los Angeles

Every single time I take this 11-hour flight from London to Los Angeles I feel super excited thinking about my adventures in my favourite city. This means I can not sleep on this flight, but I do not mind it, I love watching new movies on the in-flight entertainment system and edit my Instagram photos while enjoying several glasses of JD and coke. Picking up your car from Alamo is always super exciting, you pay for your chosen car type and then get to pick which exact one you want at the pickup point. We went for a midsize SUV…

Roadtrip of a lifetime- California

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love California and one of my biggest dreams is to live somewhere in Santa Monica or Venice Beach. I don’t know what it is about those 2 places, but I just love the thought of being able to go for a jog by the beach every morning, get healthy, but yummy breakfast from anywhere around the corner and enjoy the sun majority of the days. So far, I have only visited LA 3 times, but 2 of those times I’ve gone road tripping around the state and it was the best thing…
